Who doesn't love oggling a really great neon sign out in the wild? Here's your chance to learn how to make your own custom neon sign to show off your love of all things that glow! Hand letterer and crafter extraordinaire Abdullah Syed will walk you through the process of designing and crafting letters made of neon colored EL wire. Participants will take away with their own handmade sign! All materials included. Just bring yourself and an idea of a single word (around 5 letters works best) to use for your sign.

About the Instructor: Abdullah Syed is an artist and designer based in Washington, DC. He has been making stuff on and off the internet all his life. His work revolves around pop culture, words, cities and food- their relationship with each other. More info is available at abdullasyed.com

This workshop is a collaboration between Abdullah Syed, the Unofficial Hand Lettering Society of Silver Spring and Catylator Makerspace.

Participants will leave with one 20"x15" neon sign. All materials provided.
